Wanakia admits native Wisconsin species of the following:

- Most species of native Wisconsin birds (e.g., songbirds, water fowl, wading birds, birds of prey)
- Small mammals (e.g., squirrels, opossum, rabbits)

Wanakia does not have the capability to accept the following species:

- Larger mammals (e.g., woodchuck, raccoon)
- Predatory mammals (e.g., fox, coyote)
- Deer
- Bats
- Mustelids (e.g., weasel, mink)
