Resources
Our community is blessed with wonderful, well-intentioned citizens who may be tempted to help wildlife in need on their own. But it’s important to know what is best for these animals before taking any action. Without a license, for example, it is illegal in Wisconsin to attempt to rehabilitate wildlife. Doing so could harm the animal and even you.
Advice and answers to common questions about sick, injured or orphaned wildlife may be found on the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ excellent website. Please visit the WDNR’s Wildlife Habitat section, or specifically the Keep Wildlife Wild page, for more information.
